[mythtv-users] VLC plays mythtv DVB-T files but no sound on WindowsXP

I'm trying to play my MythTV content on my Windows PCs  and I can't get VLC to produce any 
sound.. This used to work for me but not sure when it stopped.
is there any switches that I need.
Windows Media works but I can't fastforward.
MythTV Player is a little buggy and crashes alot
so I'm trying Tapeworm 1.1.1 but it uses VLC

Can anyone suggest either an alternate or how to get VLC to play the mpg files correctly?
