...assuming that your problems are not related to the quality of the
discs, you may need a Windows box running AnyDVD to rip some of those
DVDs. Most of the problems I have seen have been quality issues that
manifest on faster drives. A lot of quality control issues get mistakenly
classified as DVD copy protection.

   My most recent problem child (Harry Potter 5) was a notorious & well
known case of poor manufacturing quality. You just need to know where
to ask.


You might try DVDFab decrypter--it has a nice free version that runs well in WINE... http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm
