I get a pop when entering a recording with AC-3 audio. It's because of
this:

However, mine fixes itself just fine after the pop. If yours is still
messed up and only sometimes, it sounds like whatever is decoding your
audio (some sort of receiver I'm guessing?) isn't switching to digital
every time. Is there a way you can force is to only use digital? I can
do that on mine, but then I don't get my analog audio so I live with
it the way it is until I am annoyed enough to fix it for good - which
is likely never.
