Then I have to ask, why does MythTV care what the MPAA thinks? What does
it matter if this company puts MythTV on their naughty list?

If the MPAA hasn't sued Azureus or any other open source projects that
has created a torrent client, then I doubt MythTV is under any threats
by just including an existing client into the interface.
