Ash,
Thanks for the tip. I disabled extra sound card buffering, and the problem
improved from unbearable to annoying. I still get drop outs every minute or
so. My frontend logs have some errors that may be related to the problem.
- Myth found a 5.1 AC3 track, plus four 2.0 tracks. Is that normal for a
DVD rip?
- "Mixer unable to find control Master 1" - ALSA Mixer can't find any 5.1
or 2.0 Master controls
- "WriteAudio: buffer underrun" - (only twice)
- "AddAudioData():p1: Audio buffer overflow, audio data lost!" - this
occurs every 5-15 ms until I stop watching the video.
Hopefully somebody will have some more things to try. I'm at a loss on this
one.
Thanks!
