My guess is that Mythbuntu is not set up to use the restricted drivers for video.

Subject: [mythtv-users] Mythdora vs Mythbuntu

I don't know if this question is similar to many "distro wars", so I'll put
this disclaimer out now that I am not looking to make a decision and want
input.

I have installed both systems, and like certain things about both. I just
have a few questions about Mythbuntu. When I run mythfrontend in Mythbuntu,
my cpu load average is about 3.00, unwatchable. I noticed about 10% cpu
utilization from Xorg.

When I run Mythdora, I get a load average of about 1.00 while watching
video. The settings on both systems are the exact same. Same resolution,
mpeg2 decoder, same system, etc. The only difference is the hard drive.
The Mythdora is a 2.5" 5400 rpm drive, and the mythbuntu is a 3.5" 7200 rpm
drive. By that account, the mythbuntu system should be faster.

My hope is someone has a hint on how to lower that CPU utilization in
mythbuntu, or someone can confirm my parity between the distros. I've
already tried XvMC as an option too.

Thanks for any help.
