A bandsaw will cut through your wood much faster than a hand saw.

It does have the minor disadvantage that it can *cut off your hand*,
quickly and easily.  

So if you want to take advantage of the power of a bandsaw, you have to
learn how to use it.

Same thing here.  Or driving. 

Perhaps it's a bit cold to say, but hell, she's not *my* girlfriend.  :-)
