Hi...

I just read your post. I use the S100 as a frontend here and it works just 
fine :-) .Only starting to watch a recording takes 5 seconds...everything 
else is great - especially the remote . All in all it's perfect as a 
frontend - don't throw it away :-) .

I used slackware. You can download it from the zenega-forum.
Perhaps I can give you some advice on how I did it...
