OTA HD channels are MPEG2, that is "not compressed" ?
I suppose if you sent only I frames it could be considered not
compressed, but I don't think anybody would do that. What's actually
transmitted is compressed by about 50-to-1.
But I agree that CATV-transmitted OTA signals are degraded for several
reasons.
