I can't help on the error message. I see those too.
As to xvmc using 100%, there *is* something wrong in the setup.
I presume that you have (going from memory) libviaxvmc in 
/etc/X11/XvMCConfig (since xine works).

Down about three pages in Utilities/Setup->Setup->TV Settings->Playback 
there are settings for which decoder is used. Your best bet is to check 
in that area of setup. (I run SVN so I am not sure how 20-fixes is set 
up for what is no which page).
