The Gefen HD PVR is similar, already available, and $1000.  It's
actually a self-contained PVR but you can save to a USB drive.  Also
does h.264 hardware encoding and can capture off of Component and HDMI
(It is HDCP Compatible).   It's not terribly useful for Myth purposes
as you'd need to copy files off the device onto USB, move them to your
Myth machine, and import them, but it is similar hardware.  It's also
too expensive.
