[mythtv-users] channel order experimentation

My cable company recently moved a few QAM channels on me. After
re-scanning using my hdhomerun, I was able to go into the database
(via phpmyadmin) and change the mplexid and serviceid entries to
recover the channels. However, for one of the HD network channels,
the ATSC major and minor channel numbers had disappeared.
Unfortunately the EPG channel ordering by "channel number" uses those
ATSC major and minor numbers; now, instead of my CBS HD channel
appearing next to the corresponding CBS SD channel, it shows up a the
end of the list.
Entering anything other than zeros for the ATSC major and minor
channel numbers in the database causes myth not to be able to tune the
channel.
Does anyone know of a way to "fool" the EPG ordering to allow
re-arranging of channel numbers without actually changing the ATSC
numbers? Alternately, is there a way to still be able to tune a
channel with bogus ATSC numbers?
