I have two youngsters. Let me point out that if you did,
you were probably pulling off episodes to DVD fairly
regularly for car trips, watching in the other room where there
is a DVD player but no frontend, etc. Having a big stack of
these can make the kids happy in any number of situations,
including power supply failure, disk replacement and MythTV upgrade.
