I haven't done the irrecord bit yet, but run the "send_power_new.sh"
script found at
http://www.blushingpenguin.com/mark/lmilk/send_power_new.
Nothing seems to work, which to me means that no codeset is present in
the list of the "accepted" codelist in the firmware of the PVR-150.
Regardless of the codeset, I can try to build my own as for your suggestion.
I see that the codes needed are the RAW codes, so probably I need to run
# irrecord --force

Say this works, how can I bypass the issue of the codeset not being in
the list of the accepted ones?
The list is here http://www.blushingpenguin.com/mark/lmilk/IRcodesets.html.
It's also written that:
>I am only capable of supporting the same devices as the Windows
software -- because the codeset database is encrypted, I cannot modify
it.

I've run the windows software to scan the codesets and nothing
happens, which to me means this Kreatel Tornado/K5 is not supported.
So do you see a turnaround to this issue?

Obviously, as soon as possible I'll try the irrecord --force and let you know.

Thanks
Francesco
