If you are talking about the Kreatel VIP 1510 (aka Motorola VIP 1510) 
for IPTV then I can tell you that its possible to control the box via 
LIRC if you have an IR-Transmitter (such as the MCE IR-blaster). However 
the problem is that there is no perfect lirc.conf for that box.
Let me know if that is the "decoder" you have and I will help you along.
