You can adjust mythfrontend and mplayer to fit the screen. I gave up on
the custom modeline quite some time ago when the nvidia driver started
rejecting my modeline because it wasn't divisible by 8. I just started
adjusting the mythfrontend window size. It's buried in the settings
somewhere, maybe under appearance?
