I don't know of any way to outright stop if from recording on a
particular channel, but you could assign it a channel priority of -99
so that it would only use the channel as a last resort. You can do
this under:
Setup -> TV Settings -> Recording Priorities -> Set Channel Recording Priorities

If you tell myth to record on a particular station, you could manually
override the french channel's call sign so that it wouldn't match your
english channel. But that won't help if you need to set a recording
for any channel.
