[mythtv-users] mythbackend startup problems

Make sure that all your mysql.txt files have the correct user/pass and
hostname for SQL.

There should be one in /root/.mythtv/mysql.txt that you might not have
configured.
And more than likely there will be one that was created by the init.d
script.
If it works like gentoo does this one is based off the folder that your
conf.d config file tells your system to store your PID. And again, if it
works like gentoo, this is deleted every time you reboot. Workaround for
gentoo is to pick a folder other than a /var/run folder to store the PID
file.

Subject: [mythtv-users] mythbackend startup problems

Running mythtv on a Debian lenny/sid system.

From a console as a regular user edward, mythbackend starts fine.

From a console as root, it fails.

The startup script in /etc/init.d also fails, for the same reason, which
is "MySQL access denied for user mythtv at localhost using password: Yes"

MySQL is configured to give all privileges on mythconverg to user mythtv
from localhost.
