[mythtv-users] Can't convince nvidia module 169.07 to load

I've been fighting with my new video card (GeForce FX5200) that I
installed after my hard drive died and I did a fresh install of FC8
according to Jarod's guide.

The TVout is working well with v169.07 but not 100.14.19. The problem
is that I can't convince modprobe to load the 169 module. Currently I
am starting in runlevel 3, running 'nvidia-graphics-switch 169.07'
manually, then switching to runlevel 5. It's not really a long term
solution though. :(

If I start in runlevel 5, X is set up with the 169 libraries but the
kernel module is 100, so it fails due to API mismatch.

Here is my /etc/modprobe.conf: http://pastebin.ca/887294

dmesg output:

[root at ebi etc]# dmesg | grep NV
 BIOS-e820: 000000003bf50000 - 000000003c000000 (ACPI NVS)
nvidia: module license 'NVIDIA' taints kernel.

NVRM: loading NVIDIA UNIX x86 Kernel Module 169.07 Thu Dec 13

The last line is from running it manually.

[root at ebi etc]# ll /dev/nvidia*
crw------- 1 mythtv root 195, 0 2008-01-31 22:14 /dev/nvidia0
crw------- 1 mythtv root 195, 1 2008-01-31 22:14 /dev/nvidia1
crw------- 1 mythtv root 195, 2 2008-01-31 22:14 /dev/nvidia2
crw------- 1 mythtv root 195, 3 2008-01-31 22:14 /dev/nvidia3
crw------- 1 mythtv root 195, 255 2008-01-31 22:14 /dev/nvidiactl

Any suggestions on how I can start troubleshooting this?

Thanks,
Alex
