That's the wrong URL - Fedora project releases are no longer called
Fedora Core. The correct path for the Fedora 8 repository data is:

http://dl.atrpms.net/f8-i386/atrpms/stable/repodata/repomd.xml

Update your atrpms.net repository file as Mitch suggests, and yum
should work normally.
