I'm pretty much doing all this with a dual-core CPU and 2 GB RAM. I allow 2
jobs at a time, enable commflagging while recording, have 5 tuners (2 HDHRs
and a PVR-150), and can watch HD and browse mythweb while this is going on.
I tried using just 1 GB RAM, but then swapping would make mythfrontend feel
like an old tivo with its frequent delays when selecting a menu item.

I don't know anything about RAID, but it's good that you're planning for
enough disks that you can keep the DB separate from the recordings. That's
my biggest pain point, as I have two big disks with the OS/DB on one. The
best ways to help this were to enable fast deletes (ext file systems) and to
restrict mythfilldatabase to the wee hours when almost nothing is recording.
