[mythtv-users] Disable commercial-skip OSD?

I have an appletv running 1080 content and it does a really great job. I just get a short stutter whenever the OSD appears after commercial skip. I've minimized it by not fading out and all the other tweaks so it isn't bad, certainly livable but I'm curious - 

can the OSD be disabled either altogether or can OSD be disabled during commercial skip?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
