Since you didn't follow the link and read (or understand) the  
description of the device...

It's a component capture device. It accepts component video input (and  
analog or spidif audio) and converts to h.264 video on the fly. The  
result is a very nice looking compressed video file that is not  
limited by digital encryption technologies.

In other words, it's completely different from capturing firewire from  
a cable box.
