Don't forget that if you run the backend and frontend from terminals then you 
may be using different users from the normal methods. This may give you 
different results due to variations in file permissions (etc).

But it's definitely a start at finding out what's happening. You may also, if 
you do that, want to change the logging levels. Use the --help option to find 
out what logging information can be made available.
