I updated not only the nvidia drivers (using envyng) but I updated
everything else that had an update. 118 packages updated.

The problem remains.

Interesting note. I try and watch a program on myth and get just a
gray screen with digital noise blocks on it. While that is going on,
I can watch that same program on mythweb with no problem.

I am still getting a variety of frontendlog errors like these:
2008-08-17 16:13:49.416 NVP: Couldn't find a matching decoder for:
/media/drive2/1111_20080817144700.mpg

and lots of these
2008-08-17 16:14:48.769 NVP: Prebuffer wait timed out 10 times.

The Xorg over active CPU went away but another time I got mythfrontend
at 100%CPU.

I just went down to the myth system. Moved the menu to look at a
preview. This is mythfrontend.log during that time:

2008-08-17 17:11:21.744 XMLParse::LoadTheme using
/usr/share/mythtv/themes/Mythbuntu-8.04/ui.xml
2008-08-17 17:11:21.880 Connecting to backend server:

2008-08-17 17:11:21.880 Using protocol version 40
2008-08-17 17:11:23.496 Tuning to 'MPEG Program 1' pnum: 0x1 without
CRC check on PMT
2008-08-17 17:11:23.502 mpegts_read_header: could not find any PMT's
2008-08-17 17:11:23.502 AFD Error: avformat err(-1) on av_open_input_file call.
2008-08-17 17:11:23.502 Couldn't open decoder for:
/var/lib/mythtv/recordings/1091_20080817170000.mpg

Does anyone have a clue what to do here? Is there something I can
post that would help?

Allen
