[mythtv-users] Accessing mythweb from outside internal network

There are indeed messages saying that Comcast is slowing down incoming
traffic. Set up a port forwarding on your router to forward a random
port (ex. 5687) to port 22 of your Mythbox. See if that is as slow when
you connect to your Mythbox from outside over ssh. Do a few directory
listings or use scp to copy over a file.
At least this will give you an idea if you have the same problem on a
different port.

Have you tried accessing MythWeb using your external IP address from
inside your network? The IP routing should go out to your router and
then come back in without any Comcast interference. If that is fast,
only Comcast can be blaimed.

Personally I would suspect Comcast big time. They made P2P file
transfers almost impossible not long ago by slowing down the IP traffic
on P2P ports. I would not be surprised if they still had these settings
on other ports.

There are 2 other machines on the network on a day to day basis. I use my router to forward https request to my mythbox, which I have configured to receive them. I have created a local certificate to make all this work.
