No idea...  More to the point, I have no clue as to what's inside the ZyXEL, 
either.  Up to now I've been able to take the "stupid user" approach to my 
UPnP box.  Buy box, plug box in, box works...  hooray!  :)

(OK, I went into the config menu to disable the sound effects, but that's 
hardly what I'd call a critical config change.)

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I copied a few test mp3s to my mythtv 
box, and it doesn't appear as though the ZyXEL is able to "see" any of them. 
But I haven't done a lot of experimenting to find out why not, just a 
quickie test.

Haha, yeah...  theory is nice, but theory doesn't mean much if it doesn't 
actually work when you need it to!
