It's pretty much impossible not to record the sound with DVB because
the soundtrack(s) are compressed into the data stream.

The most likely options (to me) are:

1)  Your frontend player has selected the wrong (ie an empty)
soundtrack.  Like DVDs, DVB has the potential to carry several
soundtracks: multiple languages, commentaries etc.  Often the unused
tracks are silent but this doesn't always stop the player selecting
them.  Maybe one of your frontends is using a different player or
player settings.  Try cycling through available soundtracks (available
from the menu when watching using the myth internal player).

2)  Mixer settings.  Maybe DVB recordings uses a different channel on
the mixer, which has been accidently muted.
