I seem to have the same problem as the original poster: I need to enable XvMC to play back HD recordings, but when it's enabled I get a black screen and have to kill mythfrontend.

I have the XvMCConfigFile as follows:

> root at fe01:/home/mythtv# cat /etc/X11/XvMCConfig
> /usr/lib/libXvMCNVIDIA_dynamic.so.1
