I've never had sound I would call 'choppy'. Some (DTS) movies will play right
through without a glitch, others I will get maybe 4 or 5 micro dropouts. I've
only seen the termination frame problem happen either once in a movie (where
you get a second or more of silence) or not at all.

I think they're related in that they're both shortcomings of the
implementation but, no, they're not the exact some problem. The stuff in the
trac ticket looks similar to this which I logged last night:

2008-04-21 19:41:13.584 AFD: DTS: Only 48kHz supported (sfreq 1)
2008-04-21 19:41:13.585 AFD: DTS: Only 48kHz supported (sfreq 1)
2008-04-21 19:41:13.585 AFD: DTS: 2496-sample bursts not supported
2008-04-21 20:20:19.894 AFD: DTS: Termination frames not handled (ftype 0)
2008-04-21 20:20:19.900 AFD: DTS: Only 48kHz supported (sfreq 1)
2008-04-21 20:20:19.900 AFD: DTS: Termination frames not handled (ftype 0)
2008-04-21 20:20:19.900 AFD: DTS: Only 48kHz supported (sfreq 1)
2008-04-21 20:20:19.900 AFD: DTS: 1312-sample bursts not supported

At least as far as the 48kHz thing is concerned, but you don't seem to get the
unsupported burst length at the same time.
