[mythtv-users] DTS dropouts

I don't know if this is common problem because I have very few DVDs with DTS
soundtracks but one I was playing yesterday would drop out for about 1 second
at particular place. This was repeatable and the same iso did not present any
problems to VLC when asked to play the DTS soundtrack.

The debug log with -v playback enabled says this at the time of the dropout:

AFD: DTS: Termination frames not handled (ftype 0)
AFD: DTS: Termination frames not handled (ftype 0)
AFD: DTS: 3104-sample bursts not supported

Output path was SPDIF and the amp shows it is not receiving any (recognizable)
audio stream during this time (as opposed to a valid stream with silence).

Anyone know enough about the DTS passthrough process to shed light on this?

There also a whole bunch of micro dropouts throughout the movie where I saw
the amp re-acquire the DTS stream after having lost it for only a fraction of
a second but I wasn't logging the whole movie.
