simply because little dishes are smaller and more compact than VHF antennas!
Some people place their Dish on their apt. balcony. But, placing an
antenna on a balcony is tough to do and most apts restrict it.

Then again, if it's a small UHF antenna, then it'll be the size of a
small Dish (but, that's not what people have experience with... yet.)
