[mythtv-users] Is this beefy machine really not enough to drive HD at 1080p?

That is less than half the pixels of a 1080p video...

Try to add -lavdopts threads=2:fast:skiploopfilter=all to your mplayer
command line. Without the skiploopfilter option, I get bad A/V sync
problems too.
