[mythtv-users] Is this beefy machine really not enough to drive HD at 1080p?

try adding "-lavdopts fast:skiploopfilter=all" to the mplayer 
command. That lets me play high bit-rate 720p H.264 using Xv on the 
AppleTV which only has a 1GHz pentium-m.
