hauppauge.com says right up front: "Shipping will start May 1, 2008."

I've ordered one to use with the channels either FireWire has trouble
with (the <100 analog ones) or can't get to at all for some reason or
another (A&E HD). I will continue to use FireWire for all other
channels, including the broadcast-network affiliates, premium movie,
and other.

It may be too much to hope for, but I am keeping my fingers crossed
that--just as the developers of other DVR-software systems, such as
SageTV, have had trial units of the device for some time--the MythTV
devel team will pop up any day now and announce that it has been
working with Hauppauge, under a now-lifted NDE, to incorporate support
for the device from day one of general availability.
