[mythtv-users] More new-system questions: Mmmm, cool.

I bought a case, power supply, and fan for my new myth box. This is the first system I've built from scratch since 1997 or so and a lot of stuff is new to me.

I see on the case's box that it has an optional vent-duct thingie. A plastic cylinder, flared at one end, mounted over a grill in the side of the case.

I've looked at various sites that cater to overclockers and case-cooling fanatics, and can't determine exactly what a duct in this position is for.

My best guess: It is supposed to channel hot air blown "up" by the CPU fan directly out of the case.

Is that right?

I put the big fan I bought on the rear of the case, so it can suck air out. Good idea? Or should it be blowing air in from the front?

Finally, the motherboard I ordered has an on-board nvidia GPU and nvidia chipset. To judge from the pictures of the motherboard, it has a heatsink for these. I read on the overclockers' site that some people buy extra fans. It is advisable to do that?
