If you use the i810 driver, there is a small patch referenced in the
ubuntu on a mac-mini intel wiki page:

that fixed the blue screen for me there.

I have a 965 in my new dell 1420N, and with the intel 2.x driver, I
don't need any changes to see 720p and 1080i.
