Hi
I'm building a MythTV frontend box using a Via EPIA EX1000EG and Ubuntu
Feisty. I've got Ubuntu installed, and I've built the latest Via drivers,
and I've installed mythfrontend from the Feisty repositories. But when I try
to watch live TV or play a recording the screen goes black and the PC
completely freezes. Even ssh sessions lock up!
The backend seems to be set up OK, and I can access it fine with
mythfrontend running on a laptop.
I'm using standard MPEG2 decoding - I haven't tried setting up XvMC yet.
When the frontend crashes, the backend shows that one of the tuners is in
use watching live TV - so the connection to the backend has been made.
I've tried logging what happens by running
mythfrontend --verbose all > myth.log
However, the system crashes before anything relevant gets written to the
file.
I'm at a bit of a loss on how to go forward with this. Has anyone got any
suggestions?
Thanks
Olly
