I have anticipated that LIRC will be a problem if I go for the
kernel-2.6.22.5-49. I need to use this for my HD5000 to work properly.

If you don't have any particular need for this version, downgrade to
kernel-2.6.22.2-42. lirc-kmdl is available for this. Unfortunately for me,
it doesn't have the fix for my tuner so I need to wait 'till
lirc-kmdl-2.6.22.5-49 is available at ATRPMs.
