[mythtv-users] Help! Tuner card wont add

In the new tuner card setup, did you pick the card type (I forget the 
exact verbiage, but it's something like 'Hardware MPEG encoder - 
PVR-xxx'), the tuner device (should be /dev/video0), and give it a name? 
I think you need to do at least that.
