A friend who has a Myth box with 4 drives and 4 PVR-250's in it gets CRC
errors reading the kernel after every 3rd reboot or so and I seriously
believe that's exactly why it happens.  Once the system is up and
running, it's rock-solid stable--it's just during initial boot that it
has issues.
