I'm using a grey MCE remote that came with my Hauppauge 500. It worked great
before the upgrade and all my prior config files are still in place. When I
try to use it with irw or any myth program, I record this in
var/log/messages:
Sep 14 02:16:41 TV lircd-0.8.3-CVS[7008]: lircd(userspace) ready
Sep 14 02:16:51 TV lircd-0.8.3-CVS[7008]: accepted new client on /dev/lircd
Sep 14 02:16:51 TV lircd-0.8.3-CVS[7008]: could not get file information
for /dev/lirc
Sep 14 02:16:51 TV lircd-0.8.3-CVS[7008]: default_init(): No such file or
directory
Sep 14 02:16:51 TV lircd-0.8.3-CVS[7008]: caught signal
Sep 14 02:24:45 TV lircd-0.8.3-CVS[7165]: lircd(userspace) ready

Sep 14 02:25:13 TV lircd-0.8.3-CVS[7165]: default_init(): No such file or
directory
Sep 14 02:25:13 TV lircd-0.8.3-CVS[7165]: caught signal
and lircd appears to be killed.
In /etc/modprobe.conf I have:
# IR for MCE USB remote
alias char-major-61 lirc_mceusb2
install lirc_mceusb2 /sbin/modprobe ivtv; /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install
lirc_mceusb2
My IVTV is: ivtv-kmdl-2.6.22.4-65.fc7-1.0.2-134.fc7
While my lirc is: lirc-kmdl-2.6.21-1.3194.fc7-0.8.2-68.fc7
So my lirc-kmdl doesn't match my kernel, and there is no newer one available.
Is there a newer lirc-kmdl on the way soon?
