I'm having a problem after a recent upgrade of the system. More
specifically the problem is with the Nvidia drivers. Xorg.0.log is
saying that the nvidia module couldn't be opened. Thought that it might
be useful to check here to see if anybody has come across this problem
yet. The system is the main mythfrontend to mythtv and was running okay.
Yeah, I know, if it's not broken ... yada yada yada. I prefer to keep
my systems updated. Up until now there haven't been but a couple of
glitches in updating. The last glitch a week ago was that the XvMC
failed because the location of the file had changed.
This is what got updated using "yum update --enable atrpms". The first
three "Erased"s were due to yum not resolving and handling the new 5-76
kernel. So, I removed the nvidia module with a yum remove
nvidia-graphics9631-kmdl-2.6.22.4-65.fc7.

That allowed all of the other updates to complete and this is what was
updated today.

However, there currently are no nvidia-graphics9631 modules available
yet for the 5-76 kernel. No problem. Just back off the kernel to 4-65
using grub.conf. Reboot to the old 4-65 kernel and install the nvidia
modules and libs with: yum install nvidia-graphics9631-kmdl-`uname -r`
nvidia-graphics9631-libs nvidia-graphics9631 --enable atrpms. I wound up
installing and removing that several times thinking the modules were not
getting installed. The nvidia drivers were installed from the .run
package from nvidia. That has not resolved the problem.

I haven't been able to find much information on Nvidia.com since they
are older drivers. The older drivers are needed because it's a shuttle
with onboard graphics card and 9631 are the latest drivers that will
recognize the card. So, if anybody has run up against this it would be
appreciated to find out how to resolve the problem.
