don't know about 'better' or anything about component hookups.... but...
I have 2 different boxes... both use a DVI->HDMI cable and connect up
to a HDTV. I don't use anything special in the xorg.conf file. I just run the
nvidia binary drivers from livna and configure my boxes for dual head
configurations. Screen 1 is my desktop monitor and Screen 2 is the
HDTV.  Playback looks fine on the HDTV monitor using normal xorg.conf
settings.
