I found myself in the same situation and was lucky to get in on the initial 
SD sign-up push.  I posted a (long) message about my setup to the list,

To sum up, I needed to download and install xmltv, fix a temporary table
creation bug (feature?) in libmythtv.so (requires access to source;
pre-packaged folks may be out of luck there), run two quick SQL updates to 
fix old programids in recorded/oldrecorded and write a script to pull down
the data and run it though mythfilldatabase.

Things are still working properly, with a small hiccup last weekend due to 
DD xml data issues, and I've bought myself some more time to evaluate an
upgrade.

If you're running a pre/OS-packaged version of Myth and don't have the source
handy, someone did post a script that massages the program ids to fit into 
the existing DB structure.  The archive for that thread is at:
