Not specifically, but you will benefit since there are multiple  
processes that the backend runs. For instance, it will spawn a  
process for commercial flagging, another for transcoding, each user- 
defined job will be its own process. You can even tell the backend  
how many jobs to run simultaneously so if you have 4 cores, you would  
want to run 3 or 4 processes at a time to use up all your available  
CPU. if you have a combo backend/frontend, the frontend will be a  
process and X can be off-loaded onto another core which may be  
helpful in watching HD.
