	This sounds very familiar. My Ubuntu 6.06 based frontend and 
backend setup experiences the same sorts of effects when you try to play 
HD h264 video. I had an Athlon 64 3500+ and still had that problem.

	My Ubuntu 7.04/7.10 based frontend setup doesn't have that problem.

	Different hardware too though...
