Why not get the AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ (2.1GHz, 2x512K L2) Brisbane Core
for $66? Dual core is definitely worth it. GHz isn't everything. One
of my HDTV frontends with Athlon X2 3800+ was displaying 1080i at 50% of
one core and 720p at 65% of one core (on a 1920x1080p LCD) all while
clocked down at the time to 1.8GHz using cool-n-quiet. This was without
using xvmc.
