It's the lens that takes the picture, not the body. I agree you should
put as much into the glass as you can possibly afford, even if it means
getting a more basic body.

But everybody seems to want the latest and greatest body, and uses
what's left for glass.

Stupid really. Almost as stupid as when I once heard "I don't need the
500mm lens, I'll just put a teleconverter on my 250".
