Which depends on whether it is MEPG2 HD or MPEG4 (H.264) HD.

With the latest patches (not yet in SVN) i am able to watch BBC HD 
(H.264) with no problems. This is on a Athlon X2 4600+.

For MPEG2 you need significantly less, but in Europe most HD is going to 
be in h.264....
